Red Cross Offers CPR Class with Deaf Teachers

A CPR class taught by deaf instructors using ASL will take place Tuesday Oct. 23 and Thursday Oct. 25 at the Red Cross Chapter on 50 Prince Street. The class will cover adult/child and infant CPR plus adult and child AED.

The cost is $60.00 for the complete class (two evenings) and includes book and equipment.

Time: 6 to 9:30 pm both nights

ASADV Event at People’s Pottery November 11

Advocacy Services for Abused Deaf Victims and People’s Pottery are teaming up for an evening to EAT! SHOP! and FUNDRAISE!

It takes place Sunday, November 11 from 6 to 9 pm and features a wine and cheese open house at People’s Pottery, 3025 Monroe Ave. in Pittsford.

Twenty percent of all purchases will be donated to ASADV.

Reminder - Today’s the Day

Today’s the day to be at the Regional Center for Independent Living (497 State St., Rochester) from 3 to 5 pm when Gary O’Brien, chairperson of the Commission on Quality of Care and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities (CQCAPD) will be on hand to hear the concerns of the Rochester deaf and hard-of-hearing community. The CQCAPD is the commission that will run the new interagency council of services for New York residents who are deaf or hard of hearing. To read an earlier post on this event, click HERE.
