The Advocate For Housing For the Deaf Seniors, Inc. is consisted of a small group of volunteer board members that have been working hard for more than the past three years and are now at the final stages of waiting for the IRS approval of our 501(c)3 tax exempt status. Our goal is to build a suitable and affordable housing facility to fit the needs of the deaf seniors over 55 and up. Before we can actually do any further exploration and development activities like researching locations, contacting developers, etc., we must raise funds to pay the legal fees for incorporating as a non profit organization with the New York Secretary of State and filing the paper work for IRS with non profit housing issues. These tasks are things that an ordinary person could not do without the help of a legal expert to satisfy the Secretary of New York State for filing in the State of New York . The Advocate For Housing For Deaf Seniors, Inc. have been working non stop on a wide variety of legal issues that we are required to do before proceeding. We now are permitted to actively reach out to our community for their assistance to make this Deaf Senior Housing happen. We are currently working on a logo to make our letterheads and flyers more visible. We will be having many fund raising events to help obtain the dream of many deaf seniors in need of affordable housing. This is a community project that will benefit deaf seniors in the Rochester area and New York State .

There are events coming up during the month of October as our kick off to celebrate the dream of deaf seniors in New York .

Please take a look at the flyers and come to the events for our worthwhile cause. Save the dates and post the flyers on your fridge as a reminder. Several organizations are working with us like the Deaf Rotary Club and the Deaf BBQ. There may be another event during the weekend of October 24-25 and we will have more information as the time gets closer. We are waiting on a few confirmation details but we can tell you that you will be in for a surprise! We need the support of the community so we can also put Rochester on the map for the deaf senior’s housing. Don’t be an MIA (Missing In Action), come and join the fun. “ Together we ROC!”
