Greg Livadas, the Democrat and Chronicle reporter who wrote about the deaf community for many years, has moved on to a new job.
But don’t worry, he will continue to make an impact in his new job as Director of Media Relations at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, where he will report directly to NTID CEO Alan Hurwitz.
Greg also owns High Hopes Balloon Co. …

… which offers a variety of balloon trips in the area, even on water.
Congratulations to Greg and may he enjoy many successful years in his new role as NTID’s spokesman.

The local interpreting firm Interpretek, in its first year as a Rochester Top 100 company, was featured in today’s Democrat and Chronicle.

(October 24, 2007) — Landing a job as a deaf candidate can be a frustrating experience, so Donald Slate considers himself one lucky guy. He never thought he’d be doing engineering work at a company like Raytheon so soon after graduating from college.
Slate said he owes it all to the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, where he returned Tuesday to help recruit for Raytheon at the school’s annual job fair.
