DeafRec Rochester will host the ASL Social in Canandaigua on November 12, 2008.
Time: 6:00 P.M. - NA
About: In the past two years Canandaigua ASL program has grown. The students are excited about learning ASL and are interested in meeting others within the Deaf Community to continue their practice.
Their intentions are to hold the meetings the second Wednesday of every month, at Wegman in Canandaigua from 6:00-8:00 or longer if people wish.
Wegmans can be found on Routes 5 & 20 in Canandaigua.
They have invited a student from NTID to come and mingle. They would also love to have Rochester community support. They understand that it is a long drive but their students have been driving to Henrietta for years and they are looking for another solution. They also hope that MCC and Keuka College students will join them as well.
Their goal is to provide a place, as DeafRec currently has in Henrietta. They know how important it is to have Deaf friends who are patient with hearing people who want to learn sign language. DeafRec is excited and hopes this will become the long term opportunity as the price of Gas is going up and it will help others who live nearby to get together in the community.
If you have friends who live in Canandaigua or nearby please let them know of this exciting event!
Location: Wegman, 345 Eastern Blvd , Canandaigua, NY 14424

Remember we welcome all, deaf, hard of hearing and hearing people so come one and come all!
